Join us for a full weekend of Balboa with Peter Flahiff & Isabella Ling – seven classes, two parties, a special lecture and a Sunday Tea Dance!
This weekend is all about the things that make Balboa feel really good: comfortable connection, clear and rhythmic dancing, balance and timing, follower agency, musicality – and the confidence to play.
We’ll work on strong foundations without getting stuck in patterns. Explore an idea. Stretch it. Change the rhythm. Listen to your partner. Listen to the music. Find out what happens.
Because the better you understand what makes Balboa Balboa, the more freedom you have to make it your own.
And above all: we want to dance, experiment and have a lot of fun doing it.

INTERMEDIATE · 2 CLASSESYou know the Balboa basics and already use them on the social floor.
Up-holds, down-holds, come-arounds, out-and-ins, lollies and throw-outs are familiar territory.
Now let’s make them feel better: more connected, more rhythmic and more playful.

INTERMEDIATE / ADVANCED · 3 CLASSESBalboa is already a regular part of your social dancing.
You’re comfortable with the fundamental vocabulary at different tempos and ready to dig deeper into connection, timing, technique, musicality and partner communication.
ADVANCED · 2 CLASSESYou’re an experienced Balboa dancer with a strong foundation in Pure Balboa and Bal-Swing.
You’re comfortable adapting to different partners and tempos and you’re ready to explore the finer details: rhythm, connection, timing, movement quality, creativity and the conversation between partners.

Isabella Ling
Originally from Australia and now based in London, Isabella brings a lifetime of dance experience, from jazz, tap and ballet to Balboa, Shag and Lindy Hop. As a member of the London Balboa Collective, she brings musicality, energy and a love of social dancing to the weekend.
Peter Flahiff
Peter has been social swing dancing for more than 30 years and is known for his comfortable, connected approach to Balboa and his love for the subtleties that make a dance feel great. He teaches internationally and is also a swing DJ, lecturer and Dance & Music Historian – which is why we’re especially excited to have him share more than just dance classes with us in Dresden.
